Microsoft office portable2/9/2022 My basic assumption was that the material was aimed at the novice user, and this book hits that target admirably. I used to evaluate Office training courses in my last job, and there were three aspects of Office that I always looked for when evaluating any content, to give an idea of the target audience for the material. So, what first impulse saw as a negative is actually a positive. As it is, putting the screenshots in b/w places the information into context (where do you find an option, what do you click on) without pulling your eyes away from what you are trying to read. Initially, I thought "this is boring, why aren't the screenshots in colour?", but the fact is that the black and white format was more useful for me - it is a proven fact that colour attracts the eye to the detriment of surrounding monochrome elements, so placing a colour element on the page would actually be detrimental to the information being conveyed in the text. It does this pretty well, by providing screenshots of pages and elements thereof, and written descriptions of the tasks performed. ![]() The basic premise of the book is that it addresses 11 fundamental questions commonly asked by people when using the suite, and then walks you all of the aspects relating to those questions.
